So it’s not unnatural for us to start somewhere and end in a different place. ![]() Like for instance the song “My Life For Hire” which is a heavier song, it was an acoustic song of mine for over a year. A lot of them start off as simple acoustic songs and we turn them into what you know. Because honestly most of our songs from our whole career have come together that way. Let’s write something that we’re all excited about today, and let’s worry about how all that comes together and how we wrap that up in a way that feels like A Day To Remember later. ![]() And this one was very much like let’s get into a room, let’s get together, let’s write with our producer, let’s collaborate with people, and let’s forget about what we think we’re supposed to do and just write what we’re influenced to work on today. It’s always like what are we inspired to write right now, and over the years that’s changed. So I’d actually say that every A Day To Remember record has been put together similarly in that there’s never a target. ![]() How did you guys initially want to approach the writing process for “You’re Welcome?” And is the outcome the direction you had originally intended? You’re Welcome might be your most diverse and forward thinking record to date, considering its variety of styles and rock tropes.
